The direct lending firm Resilience Partners Fund I S.C.A., SICAR, has closed in July 2021 a new investment by granting a long-term senior loan to Grupo Vinova (Congelados Cíes) to accomplish the acquisition of Xeldist Congelados (Hiperxel), a subsidiary of Grupo Iberconsa. Through this acquisition, Grupo Vinova consolidates its position as the biggest retailer operator of frozen products in Galicia with more than 100 points of sales, broadening its distribution network and becoming the second largest retailer distribution group of frozen products in Spain.
With this transaction, Resilience Partners continues its strategy of helping Spanish SMEs to finance its growth plans. Juan Villamizar, CEO of Grupo Vinova, said: “Resilience Partners has played a key role in closing the transaction and we are delighted to count on them as a strategic partner in an ambitious expansion project which started through the recent acquisition of Coinba, specialised in cod industrialization”.
